If you’re a fan of ShopBack for cashback, you might be interested in Heymax, a similar platform but tailored for earning miles. We’ve been using Heymax to maximize miles on online payments, and it’s been a game-changer.
Personally, we have earned extra miles on flight tickets (trip.com), travel insurance (FWD) and online shopping (Shopee) simply by using Heymax.

Who are they?
Heymax is a Singapore-based company focused on simplifying personal finance, helping you effortlessly achieve your financial goals. Their mission is clear:
“Our mission is to simplify personal finance, empowering people to effortlessly achieve their financial potential.”
Heymax aims to create a seamless and highly rewarding personal finance and shopping experience. Their key offering, Max Miles, is a miles reward program that allows you to earn additional travel miles and points on top of your existing credit card rewards. By shopping with partner merchants through the Heymax website or app, you can earn Max Miles on your purchases.
What is their business model?
You must be thinking, “what’s the catch?” Well, there isn’t a catch, at least for you, the customer. When you shop at a Max Miles Merchant through Heymax, the merchant pays Heymax a commission for referring you. Heymax converts most of these commissions into Max Miles, which are then credited to your account. They keep a small percentage of the commission to sustain their operations.
How to earn Max Miles?
1. Shop with Heymax
Heymax partners with a wide range of merchants across different categories. You can earn extra miles by simply clicking on the ‘Shop with Max’ button which will direct you to a specialized link for you to make your purchase.
Additionally, each merchant’s page displays the Merchant Category Code (MCC) and the best card options to maximise your miles, making it easy to identify which cards are eligible for earning miles at that merchant.

And no, you don’t necessarily have to link your credit cards with Heymax to use this feature. Simply add a new card without linking and they will recommend the best cards to use at each merchant. There are benefits if you do choose to link your cards, which we will talk about later in this post.

2. Buy vouchers
Heymax also allows you to buy vouchers from various merchants. These vouchers can be used for your purchases while earning you additional Max Miles.
Note: to make sure you’re rewarded the correct amount of Max Miles, Heymax recommends you to follow these steps:
- Read the terms and conditions to understand which products are eligible for earning Max Miles.
- Disable any ad blockers on your browser.
- Avoid using promo codes, coupons, or store credits when making your purchase.
- Do not manually edit the URL during your shopping session.
- Complete your purchase within the same session.
What Can Max Miles Be Used For?
Max Miles can be used just like traditional miles:
- Points Transfers: Transfer your Max Miles at a 1:1 ratio to over 20 travel loyalty programs, with no fees and no expiration.
- Gift Cards: Redeem your Max Miles for gift cards at popular merchants.
- FlyAnywhere: Book your flight, then redeem it with Max Miles at 1.8 cents per mile.
Minimum redemption/transfer amounts:
- Airline/Hotel Points Transfers: Minimum transfer starts at 1,000 Max Miles at a 1:1 ratio with some airline partners.
- Gift Cards: Redeem 1,000 Max Miles for a $10 gift card (1 cent per mile).
- FlyAnywhere: You can only redeem the full cost of your flight at 1.8 cents per mile. For example, if your flight costs $180 including taxes and surcharges, you have to ensure that you have at least 10,000 miles Max Miles to redeem the full cost of a flight.
In my opinion, the most value-for-miles option is still airline points transfers.
Where can I transfer my Max Miles?
There are two main redemption options for your Max Miles:
- Cash-for-Miles: Redeem for cash equivalents with 10+ airlines and hotels, including World of Hyatt, American Airlines, and Marriott Bonvoy.
- Direct Points Transfer Partners: Heymax offers 13 direct points transfer partners and growing, including British Airways, Etihad, Flyingblue and Qatar Airways.
Is my personal information safe?
Heymax states on their website that they prioritize user privacy and does not sell user data. Additionally, they do not collect sensitive financial information, like your credit card number. You can review their Privacy Policy here.
Do I need to link cards?
As mentioned above, you absolutely do not need to link cards on Heymax. But if you have read the Privacy Policy and decide that it’s safe to do so, you could get access to the following features (we have linked a few cards, including the HSBC Revolution below).

- Real-time tracking – see notifications of transactions made on your card in real-time.
- Full rewards clarity – know exactly how much points you earned on each transaction, and track how much you have spent per period so you never overshoot your bonus cap
- Safe and secure – your card is linked securely with Visa, and Heymax does not access your card numbers.
Note: Heymax seems to only support linking of Visa cards only for now.
Should I get it?
Personally, we think the hassle of a few extra clicks in exchange for additional miles is pretty worth it. As Max Miles don’t expire, you can slowly accumulate over a longer period and eventually cash it out for a relaxing flight to somewhere nice.
We also like the extra features that come with linking your card, which makes it a good tracking tool (though I hope they add support for non-Visa cards soon!)
If you are interested, you can sign up for Heymax via this referral link and you can earn up to 500 Max Miles upon completing the onboarding and another 500 when you make 3 confirmed transactions and verify your phone number.
Full disclaimer: for every referral that makes at least 3 confirmed transactions and verifies their phone number, we will receive 1,000 Max Miles.
